This prevents water from entering the internal mechanism. Avoid using chronograph pushers underwater, as this can let water in and damage the watch.

Yes, the silicone straps (bands) of watches can be easily washed. To keep them clean and in good condition, wash the strap with warm water and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or detergents that could damage the material. However, if there is a buildup of dirt, use a soft-bristle brush (like a toothbrush) to clean hard-to-reach areas, especially where the strap contacts the skin.  

Be sure to rinse the strap well to remove any soap residue and dry it with a soft cloth or let it air dry before wearing it again.

On the other hand, leather straps require special care as they should not be excessively wet to prevent damage and premature wear. Leather can absorb water and weaken, leading to stains and stiffness. Avoid submerging leather straps and remove the watch before activities where it may get wet (such as swimming or showering).
